Pure Comfort Fibre: Our Extra Fine Merino Obsession

Extra Fine Merino combed tops (19 micron) are a premium wool fibre prized for its exceptional softness, warmth, and versatility.

Our Extra Fine Merino is sourced from carefully selected flocks via  DHG (Dyeing House Gallery) who work closely with trusted farms in regions like Australia and South America, where Merino sheep are known for producing exceptionally fine fleeces. The wool is shorn, then thoroughly scoured to remove lanolin and impurities before undergoing carding and combing. The carding process focuses on aligning the fibres and removing shorter staples to create smooth, consistent tops, which are then expertly dyed using low-impact dyes that comply with Okeo-Tex standards.

The result ,is a beautifully prepared fibre that maintains its natural softness and quality in long, smooth slivers that are consistent in thickness and ideal for controlled spinning and clean drafting, while offering rich, even colour perfect for felting and textile work.

The micron count refers to the diameter of the wool fibres — at 19 microns, this Merino is beautifully fine, making it luxuriously soft against the skin and suitable for even the most sensitive projects.
